Comprehension Strategy (K-4)

Comprehension adds meaning to what it is to read. Comprehension occurs when words on a page are not just mere words but thoughts and ideas. This makes reading enjoyable, fun and informative. A necessity for success in school, work and everyday life.

Studies have identified a number of comprehension strategies known to be highly useful to students. From activating background knowledge to summarizing, these strategies range from simple to more complex.

SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT:

For all classes, supplies and equipment are provided unless stated.  We have a very limited number of computers available. They are loaned out on a first come, first serve basis. Please inform coordinator if you will need technology.  You may also bring personal laptop or tablet for personal use to ensure you have the equipment you need.  Please arrive 10 minutes early for preparation of equipment.
